Information on the processing of personal data

Information on the processing of personal data in the process of application to the Wrocław University of Environmental and Life Sciences (UPWr).
According to art. 13 par. 1 and par. 2 of the General European Data Protection Regulation of 27 April 2016 (GDPR), we would like to inform you that:
1. The administrator of your personal data is the Wroclaw University of Environmental and Life Sciences with its registered office at 25 C.K. Norwida Street, 50-375 Wrocław, Poland. VAT number: 896-000-53-54, REGON Number: 000001867.
2. The University has appointed a Data Protection Supervisor (Polish: IOD), whom you can contact via e-mail: iod@upwr.edu.pl.
3. Personal data will be processed for the purpose of application to the university, pursuant to the general European regulation on the protection of personal data of the 27th of April 2016, art. 6 par. 1 point c, that is, under the Higher Education and Science Law of the 20th of July 2018 (Journal of Laws of 2023, item 742 with amendments).
4. Personal data of applicants who were not accepted shall be processed no longer than until the 31st of May of the year following the year of the application process. In the case of applicants to postgraduate studies, personal data of the applicants who were not accepted shall be processed no longer than until the 31st of May (for programmes following engineering degree programmes) or until the 31st of December (for programmes following bachelor's degree programmes) of the year of the application process.
5. You have the right to access your data and the right to rectify or delete it or limit its processing, the right to data transfer, and the right to object to data processing in accordance with the provisions of the General European Data Protection Regulation of the 27th of April 2016. In order to exercise your rights, you should contact the Data Protection Supervisor at the Wrocław University of Environmental and Life Sciences via email: iod@upwr.edu.pl. Consent to data processing may be revoked at any time, but this will not affect the lawfulness of the processing that has already been carried out and the processing necessary to fulfill a legal obligation.
6. The data will not be shared with external entities except for entities with which UPWr has entered into appropriate agreements for entrusting processing, entities requesting data access if they have legal grounds for requesting it, and in cases provided by law, including in particular the Act of July 20, 2018. Law on Higher Education and Science (Journal of Laws of 2023, item 742, as amended).
7. Personal data will not be transferred to a third country (to a country outside the European Economic Area) or international organizations.
8. Your personal data shall not be subject to automated decision-making and profiling processes.
9. Sharing your personal data is voluntary, but failure to provide it results in the application not being considered.
10. You have the right to lodge a complaint to the Office for Personal Data Protection when you feel that the processing of your personal data violates the provisions of the European General Data Protection Act of the 27th of April 2016.
By registering in the system, the applicant agrees to the processing of their personal data for the purposes of the applying to and documenting the course of studies and to it being used for the following purposes: statutory, archival and statistical, in accordance with Article 4 of the Regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council (EU) 2016/679 of April 27, 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (General Data Protection Regulation) of April 27, 2016. (Official Journal of the EU. L No. 119). The applicant knows that the provision of data is voluntary, but necessary for the purposes for which they were collected. The basis for the processing of the applicant's data is the Law of July 20, 2018. Law on Higher Education and Science (Journal of Laws 2023, item 742, as amended) and the Regulation of the Minister of Science and Higher Education of September 27, 2018 on studies (i.e., Journal of Laws 2021, item 1861, as amended).
The candidate consents to all correspondence related to the application process being conducted electronically and acknowledges that this includes the delivery of a certificate of enrollment and/or decisions in the proceedings.
